Teaching responsibilities would be in the area of biomechanics and related courses in our curriculum. Our department moved into a state-of-the-art facility in 2023 that includes a fully equipped biomechanics research lab with a markerless motion capture system, six force plate arrays, isokinetic dynamometer, and eight-channel wireless EMG system. Additional lab spaces in the department include an exercise physiology lab, an environmental chamber, a cellular & molecular lab, and more.Our department is striving to diversify both our program and our faculty.     • Teach the equivalent of 18 credits per academic year in the Human Physiology program. Teaching assignment will include biomechanics (with labs), musculoskeletal dynamics & physiology, human anatomy, research methods & statistics, scientific writing, upper-division electives and/or other courses in the candidate's area of expertise or as assigned by the department chairperson to meet departmental needs.
    • Advise Human Physiology majors.
    • Academic citizenship: Participation in departmental, school, and university level activities.
    • Scholarship and Professional Development: Creation and dissemination of scholarly/professional work within the discipline is expected. Establishing a research agenda (that includes engaging undergraduates in the process), publishing peer-reviewed work, attending conferences, and participating in professional organizations, and similar activities appropriate for the discipline is required of the position.Minimum Qualifications
      • Ph.D. in a Biomechanics related discipline (Physiology, Engineering, Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Sciences, Human Movement Science or other related discipline). ABDs will be considered if the candidate is expected to have the degree completed by July 15, 2025.
      • Demonstrated ability to design and assess quality learning experiences appropriate for undergraduate students.
      • Evidence of skills in technology applied to classroom and/or laboratory work in data analysis and biomechanics.
      • Demonstrated ability to synthesize, integrate, apply, and/or produce disciplinary knowledge.
      • Demonstrated knowledge about cultural proficiency in academic settings.
      • Demonstrated ability to support students from diverse backgrounds in the academic community.Desired Qualifications
        • Demonstrated abilities in advising and/or working with undergraduates in research.
