Job Description:
The Mission Concepts and Capabilities Division (MCC) of Applied
Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a motivated, energetic
Information Assurance Engineer to support the government in the
development and application of high-assurance computer security
systems hardware and software. This contingent position, expected
to start late spring or early summer 2025, will support provide
support on-site in the National Capital Region, from ARA
facilities, and via telecommuting when approved. The successful
candidate will develop IA specifications and implement IA solutions
in sponsor-developed systems and architectures. This work will
entail system and subsystem development and standards
development.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering,
system engineering, electrical engineering or related discipline
and 5+ of related experience OR high school diploma with 10+ years
of directly relevant experience in IA
- Must be a US citizen
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Certified Information System Security Professional
certification (CISSP)
- Experience in the administration and development of high
assurance network systems
- Experience with cryptographic protocols for the secure routing
of messages
- Experience with two or more of the following development
languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Linux Scripting, PowerShell, Ruby,
PHP, CSS, VBS, SQL or Assembly
- Experience in creating and maintaining the standards of systems
operating procedures
- Experience conducting technology and cybersecurity risk
assessments and creating risk profiles
- Knowledge of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)
- Experience ensure compliance with all USN, DON, and DoD
cybersecurity policies
- Experience leading the RMF process for assigned programs,
organizations, systems, or enclavesDesired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering,
system engineering, electrical engineering or related discipline
and three (3) or more years of related experience in IA or
- PhD in computer science, computer engineering, system
engineering, electrical engineering or related discipline
- Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP)
certification
- Experience in the analysis of unknown binary program behavior
using static and dynamic techniques
- Experience in understanding government high-assurance computer
systems and network environments
- Experience in research and development of secure high-assurance
systems
- Experience is managing system security notifications, such as
IAVAs, IAVBs, IAVMs, etc. and developing a course of action for
system remediation to ensure NRL general computational systems
