In this position you will play a critical role in driving Operational Excellence and Reliability tooling initiatives. You will lead scope across multiple teams and will be responsible for designing scalable solutions using the latest technologies for enterprise level platforms. You will design, architect and build solutions to enhance incident management, problem management and reliability automation practices across the enterprise. Examples include: driving adoption of modern architecture techniques like adaptive retries and cell-based architecture, implementing enterprise-wide recovery tooling for our fleet of over 1,000 applications, automating rollback processes to ensure we have self healing practices without humans, and leading the consolidation of tools and features within our AION Operations and Recovery Platform. • Act as a role model and mentor within the tech community, helping to coach and strengthen the technical expertise and know-how of our engineering and product community Job Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree--
  • At least 9 years of experience in software engineering or solution architecture
  • At least 5 years of experience with public cloud technologies Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
    • 10+ years of experience in software engineering or solution architecture
    • 10+ years of professional experience in the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and production support
    • 5+ years experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
    • 5+ years of experience in IT Service Management, Operations Management domains At this time, Capital One will sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $321,500 - $366,900 for Sr Distinguished Engineer Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
