Our client is seeking an Executive Director for a non-Profit
Foundation. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing
the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the
organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and
community outreach.Areas of ResponsibilityResponsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Lead the organization in a manner that supports and guides its
mission as defined.
- Communicate effectively, in a timely and accurate manner, all
information necessary for the Board to function properly and make
informed decisions.
- Oversee the organization's operations, including program
development and implementation, financial management, and staff
supervision.
- Financial Performance and Viability:
- Develop resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of
the organization.
- Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the organization,
including submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and
monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the
financial condition of the organization.
- Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates
operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource
utilization, and maintains the organization in a positive financial
position.
- Organization Mission and Strategy:
- Work with the Board and staff to ensure that the mission is
fulfilled through programs, strategic planning, and community
outreach.
- Implement the strategic plan to ensure that the organization
can successfully fulfill its mission into the future.
- Enhance the organization's public image to expand interest and
support.
- Fundraising and Development:
- Oversee fundraising planning and implementation, including
identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources,
establishing strategies to approach funders, submitting proposals,
and administering fundraising records and documentation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with major donors,
foundations, and corporate sponsors.
- Community and Public Relations:
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization.
- Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations
and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance the
organization's mission.
- Engage in public speaking and media relations to promote the
organization's mission and programs.Educational
BackgroundBachelor's degree
preferred.Skills/ExperienceQualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; Bachelor's degree
preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of senior nonprofit management experience,
Parachurch preferred.
- Transparent and high-integrity leadership.
- Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including budget
preparation, analysis, decision-making, and reporting.
- Strong organizational abilities, including planning,
delegating, program development, and task facilitation.
- Ability to convey a vision of the organization's strategic
future to staff, board, volunteers, and donors.
- Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique
to the nonprofit sector.
- Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and other
volunteers.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and donor
groups.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff.
