United Camps & Training ProgramsReports to: Senior Vice President,
Ticket Sales & ServiceJOB SUMMARYThe D.C. United Camps Director
will oversee the operation of the year-round camps and supplemental
training programming. Duties include the development of camp
curriculum, field scheduling, oversight of camp program staff and
campers, along with all budgetary functions.The purpose of these
programs is to further the reach of the club into the D.C.,
Maryland, and Virginia market in both fan engagement and youth
participation.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a five-year strategic plan based on the club's
goals/resources.
- Develop an annual plan including camp curriculum, scheduling,
budget, registration, staff, equipment, and program
promotions.
- Manage the allocated budget, as well as coordinate the ordering
of camp equipment and supplies.
- Develop strategic relationships with local
communities/organizations to help build the D.C. United Camps &
Training programs.
- Collaborate with marketing to ensure appropriate marketing and
awareness programs are in place to meet organizational registration
goals and increase program participation.
- Ensure safe practices and a healthy camp environment.
- Connect with ticketing/partnership/events on further
opportunities for fan engagement.
- Represent D.C. United with top-class appearance and
professionalism.QUALIFICATIONS
- Three (3) years of relevant professional/coaching experience
working with or directly coaching children, preferably in a
recreational camp setting.
- Experience in planning and developing camp curriculum, as well
as adjusting activities as needed.
- Advanced ability to hire, train, and oversee camp employees, as
well as ensure campers' safety/well-being.
- College/high-level coaching experience.
- Experience planning/executing large-scale sporting events.
- Proficiency in office software, including MS Word, Excel,
Outlook Express, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to plan sessions in coordination with coaching
staff.
- Knowledge of MLS/DMV soccer landscape preferred.
- Exceptional organization, communication, presentation, and
management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.SALARYAll
