MedStar Health is looking for -a -Radiology Technologist -to -join -our -MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center -team! -We are looking -for -a licensed Radiology Technologist who -exhibits -professionalism, -courtesy, -and excellent customer service, while interacting with patients, guests and coworkers -and the ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds. - -As -a -Radiology Technologist, -you will -administer roentgen rays and radioactive substances to patients. Operate x-ray equipment, develop film, prepare patient's room, equipment, supplies and medications. Apply today and learn how MedStar Health can be your next -great career -move! - -Primary Duties: -Prepare room, equipment, -medicine, -and materials as needed for patients. Cleans and disinfects x-ray room and equipment. -Prepare barium preparation and other chemical mixture for x-rays. - -Prepare patient for x-rays, explains procedures, transfers patient to table, position patient, and -assists -patient at end of procedure. -Follow prescribed techniques in administrating general and specific x-rays. Adjusts equipment, -determines -proper voltage, current, and desired exposure time. Arranges immobilization and support devices to obtain position of patient and adjusts the lead shield and selects proper -films. - -Radiographs all incoming patients. -Observes patient and machine during procedures and reports unusual occurrences and records patient's condition. -Routinely -maintains -stock supplies and performs general office duties such as -drafting -reports. - -Assists -chief technologist in -maintaining -radiographic technique charts. -Transport -patients -Follow infection control guidelines applicable to the section. -Efficiently takes mobile x-ray unit to patient's room or emergency room. - - -Qualifications: - -Associate or -Bachelor's -degree in Radiology. -Maryland State License. - -ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) -Registered. -
