Seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer for a permanent job in Herndon, VA.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Architect, design, develop, test and integrate company software.
• Participate in code reviews and improve software quality.
• Mentor or help junior members of the team.
• Support customers as needed
• Other duties as assigned.
 
Required Experience:
 
Education:
BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics, or equivalent experience
Experience: Over 7 years of industry experience in software engineering.
 
Professional Qualities:
• Must be able to work in a fast paced development environment.
• Must be able to analyze and solve technical problems.
 
Personal Qualities:
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and be self-motivated.
• Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Must be able to communicate (oral/written) effectively.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
 
Technical Requirements: Protocol & Core Software Team (PCS):
• Solid experience with C++ and object oriented design and development.
• Strong experience with Inter Process communications.
• Strong Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, sockets, VOIP etc.
• Very good knowledge of Design Patterns.
• Strong Knowledge of Linux or a POSIX O/S environment.
• Good Experience with shell scripting.
• Knowledge of Satellite communication is a plus.
• Knowledge of Cryptographic concepts (Symmetric Key, Assymetric Key, IPsec, TLS) is a plus.
Understanding of IP routing is a plus.
