You will operate as a trusted advisor for our key technologies, platforms and capability domains, creating clear and concise communications, code samples, blog posts and other material to share knowledge both inside and outside the organization. Capital One's Card Decisioning team is responsible to enable our business to manage risk and drive business value across the customer lifecycle by providing real-time, accurate , secure and AI powered decision-making solutions for customer transactions, fraud detection, alerts, credit inquiries and applications across card, lending and banking products.
In this role, you will work with our decisioning platform team to provide architectural guidance and technical leadership to help build a destination platform for capital one. You will be a thought leader in this space to ensure we are building a world class platform that is scalable, resilient, multi-tenant and can support a variety of use cases.--

You will work with other Distinguished Engineers to detail out high level designs and help Software engineers develop and engineer the products as envisioned . You will be responsible to help the teams with setting up the best in the industry engineering culture and developer experience . Ensure the quality of technical design and implementation
Serve as an authoritative expert on non-functional system characteristics, such as performance, scalability and operability
Continue learning and injecting advanced technical knowledge into our community
Handle several projects simultaneously, balancing your time to maximize impact
Act as a role model and mentor within the tech community, helping to coach and strengthen the technical expertise and know-how of our engineering and product community

Bachelor's Degree
At least 7 years of experience as hands on full stack technologist--
At least 5 years of professional experience coding in commonly used languages like Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Swift, etc.
At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, enterprise architecture, solution architecture or data architecture
At least 3 years of experience in cloud native technologies (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
-10+ years of professional experience in the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and production support
-8+ years of experience in designing large scale and resilient applications
-3+ years of experience with solutioning a large scale platform--
- Familiarity with Security engineering and architecture, cloud and software-defined networking, site reliability engineering --
