Legal Project Manager
We are seeking a dynamic Legal Project Manager to join our team in
Washington, DC. This role offers you the opportunity to work
closely with a cross-functional team, delivering superior legal
services across multiple practice areas. Your primary
responsibility will be to guide client teams from project inception
to completion, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to best
practices in managing legal matters. If you thrive in a

Compensation: Depending on Experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with client teams to support efficient engagement
management and identify enhancements in service delivery through
innovative use of people, processes, and technology.
- Function as a subject matter authority on various aspects
including project planning, budget preparation, fee and scope
management, adherence to outside counsel guidelines, and
utilization of project management technology.
- Offer immediate consultancy to client teams, focusing on
service quality, delivery, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure the firm's compliance with outside counsel guidelines
especially concerning staffing, reporting, and collaboration with
the Finance team for client billing.
- Promote and support the integration of legal project management
and knowledge management tools such as Clocktimizer, viGlobal,
Kira, Intapp, and HighQ.
- Lead in the formation and refinement of legal project
management methodologies by collaborating with internal teams,
clients, and external vendors.
- Provide mentorship and training on project management and
process improvement across the firm.
- Advocate and foster a culture of continuous improvement and
constructive feedback within and beyond the team.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in project management within a
law firm, corporate legal department, or related professional
services environment.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent
professional experience.
- Demonstrated skill in implementing practical, effective
solutions to enhance financial performance and client
satisfaction.
- Proficiency in formal project management and process
improvement tools and methodologies.
- Solid understanding and usability with project management
technology such as SharePoint, Smartsheet, HighQ, Microsoft
Project, and other related tools.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder
management skills.
- Advanced analytical abilities with a knack for identifying the
key metrics that drive improvements and decisions.
- Readiness to work flexible hours, including weekends and
holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A professional qualification such as a Paralegal Certificate,
MBA, or JD.
- Experience in handling high-stakes client interactions within a
legal operations context.
- Advanced knowledge of document management systems, extranets,
and collaboration portals.
- Expertise in change management methodologies, notably
Prosci.
- Certifications in project management or process improvement,
such as PRINCE2 or PMP.
- Keen understanding of broader project management principles and
contemporary discussions on the future of legal services.
