We have a unique vacancy with our District of Transmission Field Services. A successful candidate in the Power Systems and Control (PSC) Field Engineer position is responsible for implementing field operations, maintenance, and construction activities. Resources are shared to achieve goals, and staff works with customer account teams. JOB TITLE: Electronics Engineer - Power System Control (PSC) Field Engineer, GS-0855-7/9/11/12 (TF). LOCATION: Multiple locations - Malin, OR, Redmond, OR, The Dalles, OR, Umatilla, OR, East Wenatchee, WA, Grand Coulee, WA, Olympia, WA, Pasco, WA. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: GS-07: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-05): Applying professional knowledge of standard electronics engineering concepts, principles, methods, and practices to (1) Assist in the design, troubleshooting, or maintenance of electronic equipment or systems and (2) use foundational knowledge to perform basic drafting using a series of related detailed steps or processes in carrying out specific or limited work assignments to be reviewed by a higher graded Engineer. You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows:

  • One year of graduate-level education, or superior academic achievement (S.A.A.) gained in a bachelor degree curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled (based on class standing, grade-point average, or honor society membership). See the following link for more information: -OR-
  • Combination of education and experience as described above. Less than one year of specialized experience may be combined with completed graduate education. GS-09: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-07): Specialized experience is defined as: Applying professional knowledge of electronics engineering concepts, principles, and practical knowledge of conventional methodology to (1) Independently apply electronic engineering principles to design, testing, troubleshooting, integration, or maintenance of electronic equipment or systems and (2) perform routine drafting for projects that are of limited phases or segments of a utility system or to assist higher graded Engineers with more complex projects. You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows:
    • Two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree, or master's, or equivalent graduate degree; your education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. -OR-
    • Combination of education and experience as described above. Less than one year of specialized experience may be combined with graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level (i.e., credit hours beyond the first year of full-time study may be credited).
