THE POSITION

Department of Transportation is seeking an experienced, highly
motivated Purchasing Agent. If you are proactive, independent, and
able to anticipate problems, identify solutions, and escalate

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will act as a purchasing cardholder for the
department, ensuring that all transactions made with the purchasing
card adhere to the regulations set forth by the Commonwealth and
the department. You will assist managers in making purchases and
provide alternative cost-effective solutions. Furthermore, you will
be required to cultivate and sustain relationships with vendors, in
addition to collaborating with other employees within District 8.
You will also engage with various procurement systems to fulfill
assigned responsibilities, including the review of requisitions and

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employmentWork hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday -
Friday, with 30-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity
to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you
must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and
work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are
unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the
headquarters office in New Bloomfield.Salary: In some cases, the
starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Three years of experience in purchasing work involving contact with
vendors in the procurement of a variety of supplies, materials,
equipment, or services; orThree years of experience in
requisitioning, receiving, storing, distributing, and maintaining
inventory of goods; orAn equivalent combination of experience and
training. Post-high school education may be substituted on a
year-for-year basis for purchasing or stores experience to a
maximum of two years.
